Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies are, which ones we use on the Zamrud website, and how you can manage your preferences at any time.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device — computer, tablet, or mobile phone — when you visit. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as your language preference or whether you have given consent to certain activities.

Cookies do not contain your name or payment details, and they cannot run programmes on your device. They simply allow the website to recognise your browser on a return visit or carry a small piece of information from one page to another.

You can control cookies through your browser settings or through the preference panel on this page.

2. Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always active

These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to actions you take — such as filling in a form or setting your privacy preferences.

Examples: Cookie consent preference (cookieConsent), session identifiers

Duration: Up to 12 months (persistent)

Analytics Cookies

Optional

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website — which pages are visited most, how long visitors stay, and where they come from. This allows us to improve the site over time. The data collected is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid), page view tracking

Duration: Up to 26 months

Marketing Cookies

Optional

These cookies are used to track visitors across websites so that relevant advertisements can be shown. They may be set by advertising networks such as Google Ads or the Facebook Pixel with our permission.

Examples: Facebook Pixel (_fbp), Google Ads conversion tracking

Duration: Up to 90 days

Preference Cookies

Optional

These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make — such as your preferred language or region — so that it can provide a more personalised experience on future visits.

Examples: Language settings, display preferences

Duration: Up to 12 months

3. Manage Your Preferences

Use the toggles above to set your preferences, then save them below. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to work. You can change your mind at any time.

Your preferences have been saved.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services. We only permit trusted providers and, where applicable, only activate their cookies with your consent. Current third-party services that may set cookies include:

  • Google Analytics — website usage analysis (analytics cookies)
  • Google Ads — conversion tracking for our advertising (marketing cookies)
  • Facebook Pixel — advertising measurement (marketing cookies)
  • Microsoft Bing Ads — conversion tracking (marketing cookies)

These providers have their own privacy policies which govern how they handle data collected through their cookies.

5. Cookie Duration

Session cookies are temporary and are deleted automatically when you close your browser. They are used for things like keeping you logged in during a single visit.

Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period — as outlined in each cookie category above — or until you delete them manually. They allow the site to remember your preferences across separate visits.

6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers are below. Note that blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to withdraw your consent to optional cookies at any time, either by updating the toggles on this page or by clearing cookies in your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

For any questions about our use of cookies or your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), please contact us at [email protected]. Our full Privacy Policy provides further information on how we handle personal data.
